Blaze Bayley celebrates 30 years since joining Iron Maiden with two major concerts in Greece, featuring songs from his two albums with the legendary band.
30 years have passed since Blaze joined the legendary British band Iron Maiden and the start of their short-lived but iconic joint career in music. It would not be an exaggeration to say that he was a highly underrated case, having of course the heavy and crucial role of wearing the shoes of the great Bruce Dickinson - and yet he more than succeeded!
Blaze's two albums with - without exaggeration - the greatest living metal band on the planet - although the well-known debate is still going strong - namely "X-Factor" (1995) and "Virtual XI" (1998) marked and coincided with a period of huge changes, not only for Maiden and himself, but also for the whole musical planet. Judas Priest were parting ways with Rob Halford, bringing Tim "Ripper" Owens to the forefront, Metallica were undergoing huge musical and aesthetic changes, hair metal was leaving, grunge rock was coming, extreme metal was transmuting into atmospheric metal and everything pointed to an era that would leave its own special mark on the music we love. That's exactly what happened with the two British albums with Blaze as the frontman-vocalist.
It's no coincidence that songs - milestones like "Man on the Edge" and "Futureal" followed Maiden live even after Blaze's departure. And he himself, keeping his voice and energy intact, continued his solo career.
He is one of the favorite singers and performers of the Greek audience, which is why he regularly fills concert halls in Greece, from 2017 onwards, where he returned to Greece as a solo artist. This November he is coming back to Athens and Thessaloniki, for two exclusive shows with all the epic songs of the two Iron Maiden x Blaze Bayley albums, to thrill his enthusiastic audience and create 2 unforgettable nights with loud sing alongs and the emotion in red!
The concert will be opened by Absolva, the band of the Appleton brothers, who are the ones who accompany him on stage, in the 2 spearhead positions, those of the guitar duo of the band.
