Prowler is the very first song an Iron Maiden fan can come up with at the moment he/she'll start listening to their music from their first full lenght album. The song got an incredibly catchy tune and it's, even though it couldn't possibly been known back then, the definition of the Iron Maiden albums, intro hit songs.
The lyrics are about a guy who stalks and flashes women, possibly also masturbates while watching them and actually transfers the concept of the rock bands of that era into the lyrics. Prowler is the main reason that the Soundhouse Tapes was printed in vinyl as well, because when Steve Harris got their demo to Neal Kay, who was a DJ in North London, this song went straight to number one at the charts of Sounds magazine. A must listen again and again!
Lyrics:
Walking through the city, looking oh so pretty,
I've just got to find my way.
See the ladies flashing. All their legs and lashes.
I've just got to find my way.
Well you see me crawling through the bushes with it open wide.
What you seeing girl?
Can't you believe that feeling, can't you believe it,
Can't you believe your eyes?
It's the real thing girl.
Got me feeling myself and reeling around,
Got me talking but feel like walking around.
Got me feeling myself and reeling a...
Got me talking but nothing's with me...
Got me feeling myself and reeling around.
